Wind Energy

Wind power is and has been a renewable energy option for electricity generation, an essential element of the solution to climate change and to stop the destruction of Mother Earth.

Per the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 “Stimulus Act”, Wind Energy generation is classified in two categories:

1. Small Wind Power: Classified as using wind turbines with a power output of between 300 W to 100 kW

2. Utility-Scale Wind Power: Classified as using wind turbines with a power output of between 1 MW to 3 MW

Both these programs are eligible for cash grants and investment tax credits

WIND TURBINES

Wind turbines, like aircraft propeller blades, turn in the moving air and power an electric generator that supplies an electric current. Simply stated, a wind turbine is the opposite of a fan. Instead of using electricity to make wind, like a fan, wind turbines use wind to make electricity. The wind turns the blades, which spin a shaft, which connects to a generator and makes electricity.
